I began making jewellery in 2006 after my partner and I hatched an outlandish plan to pack up everything and travel around Australia for a few years. A passionate oil painter at the time, my first concern was finding a compact and non toxic creative pursuit that would keep me occupied (sane) and less inclined to drive my partner up the wall.
About a month later, we met a couple who were traveling Australia, making beaded jewellery as they went and selling it along the way….brilliant….I thought, I’ll give that shot.
It was not long before I saw my first Lampwork bead and instantly knew that was something I had to try. Three years down the track I now have so much equipment, tools, glass and enamels that it can no longer be described as a compact pursuit; however, I am enjoying it so much that we have decided to alter our plans and travel for shorter periods of time.  Continue reading my profile.
